BAN vs WI (2nd Test) – Highlights In a thrilling Test match, BAN triumphed over the WI by 101 runs in the second Test
England lost the first two T20Is of the five-match series. Phil Salt scored a brilliant century in the third match. The team won by 7 wickets. In the fourth T20 today, Phil Salt hit another century with lots of four-sixes. With a huge target of 268 runs, the English beat the West Indies by 75 runs. As a result, the visiting England returned to a 2-2 tie in the series.
Two openers Phil Salt and Jos Buttler got off to a great start after losing the toss at Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad today. They scored 117 runs in the opening pair before 10 overs. Buttler got out for fifty. But Salt continued to play in astounding form by staying in the field. In the end, this right-handed batsman stopped at 119 runs. He arranged the innings with 7 fours and 10 sixes.
For England, Butler scored 29-ball 55 with Salt’s century, Will Jacks scored 9-ball 24, and Liam Livingstone played an innings of 21-ball 54 at number four. Harry Brook remained undefeated for 6 runs. In the end, England scored 267 runs for 3 wickets.
In response, West Indies opener Brandon King got out on the first ball of the innings. Then Kyle Myers and Nicholas Pooran tried to play a stormy innings. But they could not last long. Myers made 12 off 5 balls. After scoring 39 runs off 15 balls, Pooran was caught by Brooke’s ball and returned to the dressing room. Shai Hope scored 16 runs off 8 balls.
After that, Sherfane Rutherford tried to play another innings. He scored 36 runs off 15 balls. Andre Russell played the highest innings of 51 runs off 25 balls for the team with 3 fours and five sixes. Russell could not win the team because of the big target. In the end, the host West Indies were bowled out for 192 runs in 15.3 overs.
Reece Topley took 3 wickets for England. Sam Curren and Rehan Ahmed took 2 wickets each.
