BAN vs WI (2nd Test) – Highlights In a thrilling Test match, BAN triumphed over the WI by 101 runs in the second Test
India lost two openers within three overs to chase down the lofty target set by Australia. From there, Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav put the team in the driver’s seat. Rinku secured the victory with a brilliant finish after Kishan and Surya returned. With this victory, India took some revenge after four days of losing the World Cup final.
India beat Australia by 2 wickets in the first T20I of the series in Vishakhapatnam. Australia gave India a target of 209 runs by batting first. Despite the initial disaster, the hosts left the field with a last-ball win with the help of Suryakumar and Ishan.
Ruturaj Gaikwad returned after being run out in the first over in the run chase. Despite a great start, Yashasvi Jaiswal returned with a catch by Steve Smith. He was dismissed by Matthew Short after scoring 21 runs off 8 balls.
India turned around on the third wicket. Surya and Ishan put India in the driver’s seat with a partnership of 112 runs on this wicket. The pair broke when Ishan returned with 58 runs with 5 sixes and 2 fours.
Surya led the team from the front despite Ishan’s return. When he returned with 80 off 42 balls with 9 fours and 4 sixes, the team needed just 15 runs. However, India lost 3 more wickets to take these 15 runs. However, Rinku Singh (22) left the field after confirming the victory.
After losing the toss and batting, Australia had a simple start. They lost 1 wicket and scored 40 runs in the powerplay. After that, Josh Inglis’ storm started. He is accompanied by Steven Smith. This experienced batsman keeps one edge and bats responsibly. On the other hand, Inglis beat the Indian bowlers.
Inglis-Smith’s great pair broke in the run-out. Smith picked up his fifth fifty in T20 on the way to a partnership of 130 runs. He got out after scoring 52 runs off 41 balls. Even though the pair was broken, Inglis did not make a mistake to pick up an impeccable century.
This is his first century in T20 International. Interestingly, he has seen a century before fifty in this format. The inning, which was packed up, came to a halt when Prasidh Krishna made him out. Inglis scored 110 runs off 50 balls with 11 fours and 8 sixes.
In the end, Tim David also played a cameo inning with the bat. Australia got a big collection of 208 runs. Eventually, David was unbeaten with 19 runs off 13 balls.
