Guyana set an imposing total of 219/8, with Shai Hope starring with an explosive 71 from 37 deliveries, earning him Player of the Match honors. In their chase, Barbados Royals struggled to maintain the required run rate and were held to 172/9 after 20 overs. Despite some efforts from their batsmen, they couldn’t match Guyana’s powerful batting and sharp bowling, securing an important win for the Warriors in the tournament.

In Guyana Amazon Warriors’ innings, Shai Hope led the batting charge with a blistering knock of 71 off 37 balls, striking 5 fours and 5 sixes at an impressive strike rate of 191.89. He was well-supported by Shimron Hetmyer, who contributed 57 off 34 balls, including 4 fours and 3 sixes at a strike rate of 167.64. Azam Khan played a quick cameo, scoring 26 from 17 balls with 5 boundaries before falling to Jason Holder. Rahmanullah Gurbaz, opening the innings, managed 7 off 5 balls, while Moeen Ali provided a brief but explosive knock of 8 from just 3 deliveries. Romario Shepherd added 23 off 13 balls with 2 fours and 1 six, before being run out. Dwaine Pretorius chipped in with 12 from 9 deliveries, while Keemo Paul and Junior Sinclair were able to contribute 1 and 4 runs, respectively.

In Barbados Royals’ bowling performance, Maheesh Theekshana stood out with an impressive spell, taking 3 wickets for just 15 runs in his 4 overs, maintaining a remarkable economy rate of 3.75. He was the most economical bowler, delivering 14 dot balls and conceding just 1 six. Jason Holder contributed with 1 wicket but was expensive, giving away 41 runs in his 4 overs at an economy of 10.25, while conceding 6 fours and 1 six.

Keshav Maharaj was also expensive, leaking 48 runs in 3 overs, taking 1 wicket at an economy of 16. Obed McCoy took 1 wicket but gave away 44 runs in his 4 overs, at an economy of 11.00. Rovman Powell bowled just 1 over, conceding 25 runs, including 3 sixes, at an economy of 25.00.

In Barbados Royals’ chase of 220, David Miller played a brilliant knock, scoring 71* off just 34 balls with 8 fours and 5 sixes at an outstanding strike rate of 208.82. Quinton de Kock provided a solid start with 35 off 23 balls, including 3 boundaries and 2 sixes, but was dismissed lbw by Moeen Ali. Kadeem Alleyne and Alick Athanaze struggled, contributing just 1 and 8 runs, respectively. 

Rivaldo Clarke managed 17 from 14 balls before being trapped lbw by Imran Tahir, while skipper Rovman Powell added 10 from 10 deliveries. Jason Holder scored 7 runs before falling to Ali, and Keshav Maharaj could only add 1 run before being bowled by Gudakesh Motie. Obed McCoy chipped in with a quick 13 off 7 balls, including 2 sixes, while Naveen-ul-Haq remained unbeaten on 1. Despite Miller’s heroics, the Royals could only manage 172/9 in their 20 overs, falling short of the target.
