David Wiese was unbeaten with 8 runs off 6 balls, and Andre Russell scored 34 runs off 19 balls. 

 

Rashid Khan failed miserably while bowling for Gujrat. He had previously defeated Kolkata with a hat trick, but on this particular day, he gave 54 runs for no wicket in 4 overs. However, his fellow countryman Noor Ahmed has spread the light. Two of his wickets were taken for just 21 runs. Additionally, Mohammad Shami has taken three wickets, the most for the team, for 33 runs. Josh Little took 2 wickets for 25 runs. 

 

Gujarat did not believe they could lose after descending to chase down the 180-run mark Kolkata threw at the Eden Gardens. With 13 balls remaining, the batsmen of the defending champions reached the target and won by 7 wickets.

 

Gujarat was on edge right away as they attempted to reach the 180-run target. However, Wriddhiman Saha was caught early after scoring 10 runs in 10 balls. 26 runs were scored by Hardik Pandya from 20 balls. Shubman Gill, another opener, was returned after 49 runs off 35 balls.
