Bangladesh vs England (3rd ODI) – Highlights
England and Bangladesh met in the 3rd match of the 3-match ODI series yesterday (March 6). To be safe from whitewashing, Bangladesh set a target in the allotted 50 overs after going to bat first. Chasing that target, England collapsed before the allotted overs ended.
Along with that, Bangladesh survived the whitewash in the series. On the other hand, the English won the series by winning 2 matches out of 3 matches. Apart from this, Shakib won the man of the match due to his excellent batting and Adil Rashid won the man of the series.
Chittagong’s wicket is dry, hard, and batting friendly that’s why Captain Tamim Iqbal decided to bat after winning the toss. But decimation started Liton Das lost his wicket at the start of batting. Tamim Iqbal was also able to settle on the wicket after Liton got out. But the captain of the Bangladesh team was also dismissed by Sam Curran. He added 11 runs to the scoreboard before getting out. Played 6 balls.
Nazmul Hossain Shanto and Mushfiqur Rahim led the Bangladeshi team to a strong position in the third wicket pair after these two were dismissed for 17 runs.
These two bats created a fantastic 98-run connection. With these two runs, Bangladesh scored 100 runs. In the interim, Shanto and Mushfiqur both scored half-centuries.
However, after completing his half-century in 69 balls, he could not stay on the wicket for long. Due to an unfortunate runout, Nazmul Hossain Shanto had to be removed. After hitting 53 runs off 71 balls, he was run out.
Mushfiqur Rahim made a moderate partnership of 38 runs with Shakib Al Hasan even though Shanto was out. After some time, he finally felt at ease using the bat. Played an inning of 70 runs.
Adil Rashid, an English leg spinner, prevented Mushfiqur from scoring more than three-digit runs in his innings. Mushfiqur got confused by Rashid’s leg spin on the 4th ball of the 33rd over and went back to the dressing room by being bowled. The 93-ball innings were arranged in 6 boundaries.
Then Mahmudullah Riyad paired with Shakib Al Hasan. Only 8 runs come from his bat. Riyad was perplexed by Adil Rashid this time. He became bold. The team’s run was then 163.
Afif Hossain Dhrubo entered the field after Mahmudullah Riyad was out. A lot of expectations were on Afif. But he was showing failure match after match. Even that day he scored only 15 runs in 24 balls.
Mehidy Hasan Miraj was out for 5 runs after Afif. Taijul Islam scored 2 runs. After scoring 75 runs off 71 balls, Shakib Al Hasan was thrown out. His innings were decorated with 7 boundaries. Mustafizur Rahman was the last batter to get out. In the end, Bangladesh threw a target of 247 runs in front of England with only 6 runs extra.
Jofra Archer took 3 wickets for England. Adil Rashid and Sam Curran each claimed two wickets. Moreover, Chris Woakes and Rehan Ahmed each claimed one wicket.
