Dambulla Aura and Jaffna Kings met in the 11th match of Lanka Premier League 2023. Batting first in that match, Dambulla Aura set a small target in the allotted 20 overs. But the players of Jaffna Kings could not reach the target as the scheduled 20 overs ended. As a result, they left the field with a small loss of 9 runs. On the other hand, Hasan Ali won the man of the match title by bowling brilliantly for Dambulla Aura. 

After winning the toss and deciding to bowl first, Jaffna Kings captain Thisara Perera summoned Dambulla Aura to bat. Dambulla Aura was unable to get much of an advantage when they batted first. However, it was the bowlers who ultimately helped them to win.

Dambulla scored 1 run that day after losing their first two wickets. Kusal Mendis and Avishka Fernando both exited the game with no runs. The team’s control was then taken by Sadeera Samarawickrama and Kusal Perera for the third wicket. With the help of four fours, Sadeera Samarawickrama scored 30 runs off 25 balls, and Kusal Perera scored 41 runs off 36 balls with the help of three fours.

Following the departure of these two, Dambulla found itself in a precarious situation after losing several rapid wickets. After losing 8 wickets at the end Dambulla was ultimately able to score 134 runs, thanks to Hayden Kerr’s 25 runs from 20 balls with two fours and one six.

Besides, none of them, with the exception of these three players, can score more than 10 runs. Dhananjaya de Silva scored 4 runs from 9 balls, Alex Ross left the field after playing 5 runs from 8 balls, Janith Liyanage scored only 6 runs from 9 balls, Hasan Ali scored 8 runs from 8 balls, Noor Ahmed scored 7 runs from 2 balls with the help of 1 six. In the end, Dambulla Aura set a target of 135 runs with 8 runs extra.

Nuwan Thushara and Shoaib Malik took 2 wickets each for Jaffna. Besides, Maheesh Theekshana and Dunith Wellalage took 1 wicket each.

Jaffna Kings ended at 125 runs after losing 7 wickets at the end of the allotted over while chasing only 134 runs against Dambulla Aura. In the Lankan Premier League (LPL), Jaffna King suffered a defeat for the second time in a row. Despite chasing a simple goal, they were defeated by 9 runs.

Jaffna was put under strain right away while pursuing an easy target. In just 10 runs, Charith Asalanka, Towhid Hridoy, and Rahmanullah Gurbaz each lost their wicket. Hridoy, who has excelled with the bat since the LPL’s inception, had a lot of trouble in the last game as well. But in the end, it was unable to cling to the crease. Hridoy, who led the run scorers, dropped to third.

Following David Miller’s dismissal, the team scored 27 runs, which ended the game for Jaffna. Besides, Shoaib Malik persisted in the fight by clinging to one end till the very end. But nobody could provide him with a trustworthy friend. Despite playing a fantastic innings of 74 runs off 53 balls with 6 sixes and 5 fours, Malik was unable to win the game.  Additionally, Dunith Wellalage scored two digits scores. With the help of one-four, he managed to score 16 runs in 17 balls. 

Pak pacer Hasan Ali took 3 wickets for Dambulla. Besides, Binura Fernando, Noor Ahmed, and Hayden Kerr took 1 wicket each.
