In reply, Shikhar Dhawan scored a half-century, but PBKS collected 178 runs after losing 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Super Giants got off to a stormy start at home. They collected 54 runs losing 2 wickets in 6 overs of power play. However, they lost wickets at regular intervals. KL Rahul scored 15 off 9 balls, Devdutt Padikkal scored 9 off 6 balls and Marcus Stoinis made 19 off 12 balls.

But De Kock at the other end had just picked up his half-century. This Protea scored 54 runs in 38 balls, with 5 fours and 2 sixes. He departed as the team’s fourth wicket on the first ball of the 14th over. By that time, 125 runs had accumulated on LSG’s scorecard.

PBKS got off to a solid start in response. They were on their way to an easy victory by completing 100 runs in just 10.2 overs without losing wickets. But after the departure of Jonny Bairstow after scoring 42 runs off 29 balls, the rhythm fell for PBKS. The English star scored 3 fours and 3 sixes.

One down, Prabhsimran Singh started the storm but could not stay on the wicket. He departed after scoring 19 runs off 7 balls. Mayank Yadav returned him and Jitesh Sharma (6) in his spell in two consecutive overs.

Even after scoring a half-century, Shikhar Dhawan could not score runs at the required speed. He became a victim of Mohsin Khan after scoring 70 runs in 50 balls with 7 fours and 3 sixes. Sam Curran also departed on the first ball he faced.

Liam Livingstone hit Naveen-ul-Haq for 2 sixes and 1 four in the last over. For LSG, Mayank Yadav took the highest number of 3 wickets conceding 27 runs in 4 overs. Mohsin Khan picked up 2 wickets with 34 runs in 4 overs.
