Will Jacks also contributed significantly with a quickfire 62 off 56 balls, including 5 fours and 2 sixes, while Harry Brook chipped in with a solid 39 from 31 balls. ENG’s top order kept the scoreboard ticking at a healthy rate, but Australia’s bowlers managed to break partnerships at crucial intervals.

Adam Zampa was the standout bowler for AUS, taking 3 wickets for 49 runs in his 10 overs, including the crucial dismissals of Jacks and Livingstone. Marnus Labuschagne also played a pivotal role with the ball, claiming 3 wickets for 39 runs, dismissing Duckett and Brook, halting England’s progress. Head anchored the innings after the early dismissal of Captain Mitchell Marsh, who was caught for 10. Steven Smith added a quick 32 from 28 balls, but it was the 77-run partnership between Head and Marnus Labuschagne that sealed the win.

Labuschagne was the trusty sidekick in Australia’s batting blockbuster, clocking in a strike rate of 126.22 with a slick 77* off 61 balls 7 boundaries and 2 sixes making it look like a boundary buffet! Cameron Green chipped in with a cautious 32 off 32, before getting caught in Bethell’s web.

England’s bowlers struggled to contain the Australian batters, with Jofra Archer and Brydon Carse going for over 8 runs per over. Will Jacks bowled economically, conceding just 29 runs in 6 overs, but it wasn’t enough to halt Australia’s momentum.
