In response, Peshawar Zalmi crumbled under the weight of the chase, managing only 136 in 15.1 overs. The star of the match was Abrar Ahmed, who spun a web around Zalmi’s batters with an impressive spell of 4 for 42, earning him the Player of the Match award and playing a key role in his team’s emphatic win.

QG put on a batting masterclass in their innings, piling up an imposing total of 216 for 3 in their 20 overs at a run rate of 10.80. Captain Saud Shakeel led from the front with a composed 59 off 42 balls, while Finn Allen set the tone early with a blistering 53 from just 25 deliveries, hammering five fours and four sixes. With a consistent 41 off 32, Hasan Nawaz added to the momentum.

In the final overs, Rilee Rossouw (21* off 10) and Kusal Mendis (35* off 14) provided the perfect finish with a flurry of boundaries. The Gladiators’ top order fired on all cylinders, setting up a daunting target for Peshawar Zalmi.

Peshawar Zalmi’s bowling unit struggled to contain the explosive Quetta Gladiators’ batting lineup, conceding 216 runs in their 20 overs. Mohammad Ali endured a tough outing, going for 57 runs in his 4 overs without picking up a wicket, while Alzarri Joseph was also expensive, leaking 53 runs and managing just one scalp. Saim Ayub and Hussain Talat were used briefly but failed to make an impact, with Ayub conceding 26 in 3 overs and Talat giving away 8 in his only over.

Sufiyan Muqeem showed some promise with a wicket and 12 dot balls, although he too went for 39 runs. Ali Raza was the most economical of the lot, finishing with figures of 1 for 31. Overall, Zalmi’s bowling lacked the discipline and penetration needed to restrict the free-flowing Gladiators.

Peshawar Zalmi crumbled under pressure in their steep chase of 217, folding for just 136 runs in 15.1 overs. Despite a fighting 50 from opener Saim Ayub, who struck 3 fours and 4 sixes in his 38-ball stay, the rest of the batting lineup failed to offer substantial resistance.

The top order was rocked early, with Babar Azam dismissed for a duck and Tom Kohler-Cadmore also falling without scoring. Hussain Talat added a quickfire 35 off 19 balls, while Mitchell Owen chipped in with a blazing 31 off just 13, but the lower order collapsed spectacularly.

Abrar Ahmed was the chief destroyer with four wickets, and the Gladiators’ bowling attack kept Zalmi under pressure throughout the innings to secure a massive 80-run win.
