PSL Match Highlights | Pakistan Super League 2025 (Match—15) — 25 April: Quetta Gladiators vs Karachi Kings | QG got their 2nd win against KK.

QG vs KK  (Match – 15) – Highlights

Quetta Gladiators clinched their second victory of the HBL PSL X season with a narrow five-run win over Karachi Kings in their first home match at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, on Friday night. Defending a modest total of 142, Quetta delivered a spirited bowling performance led by their pace attack. The trio of Mohammad Wasim Jr, Mohammad Amir, and Khurram Shahzad played a pivotal role, collectively claiming six wickets for just 79 runs across 12 overs. Their relentless pressure was complemented by a superb spell from spinner Abrar Ahmed, who was named Player of the Match. He bowled economically, conceding only 15 runs in his four overs and taking the crucial wicket of Khushdil Shah, who departed for a duck after facing just four deliveries.

The Karachi Kings chase got off to a shaky start when Amir dismissed skipper David Warner early, restricting him to a mere four runs off as many balls. However, the Kings seemed to recover as Tim Seifert and James Vince added stability with a well-constructed 73-run partnership off 49 balls. Seifert’s aggressive 48 off 27 deliveries, laced with five fours and two sixes, kept Karachi in contention, while Vince contributed a more measured 29 from 28 balls. Just as the pair began to look threatening, Captain Saud Shakeel broke through, removing Vince in the ninth over.

Shortly after, Wasim Jr removed Seifert, triggering a dramatic collapse as Karachi tumbled from a strong 77 for 2 in 8.4 overs to a precarious 115 for 8 by the 18th over. Despite a late effort from Hasan Ali, who struck three boundaries and a six in an unbeaten 24 off just 13 balls, Karachi ultimately fell short, finishing their 20 overs at 137 for 8.

Earlier, QG had a disturbing start with the bat. QG failed to battle and lost 3 players for only 20 runs off 3.3 overs. Karachi pacer Hasan Ali was instrumental in this early damage, removing both openers Saud Shakeel and Finn Allen in his opening over before dismissing Rilee Rossouw shortly after. Kusal Mendis attempted to revive the innings with a brisk 36 off 22 balls, featuring five boundaries, while debutant Mark Chapman added a quick 10 before being bowled by Mohammad Nabi. Mendis was later dismissed by Abbas Afridi.

With the team in trouble at 69 for 5, Faheem Ashraf and Hasan Nawaz forged a crucial sixth-wicket partnership. Their 59-run stand provided much-needed stability and took the score to 128. Faheem top-scored for Quetta with an aggressive 43 off 27 balls, smashing four fours and three sixes, while Hasan Nawaz played a composed knock of 35 from 34 deliveries. However, once the partnership was broken by youngster Fawad Ali, Quetta’s lower order crumbled, adding just 14 runs for the final four wickets. The Gladiators were eventually bowled out for 142 in 19.3 overs. Mir Hamza and Abbas Afridi both took two wickets, but Hasan Ali was Karachi’s sharpest bowler, ending at 3 for 33 in 3.3 overs.
