In the second semi-final of the North America T20 Cup, held in George Town on April 26, 2025, the United States of America (USA) cruised to a dominant 10-wicket victory over Bermuda. After restricting Bermuda to 114 for 7, the USA chased down the target effortlessly in just 14.2 overs. Saiteja Mukkamalla was the star of the chase, playing a brilliant knock of 72 not out from 49 balls, guiding his team home with ease. His composed and attacking innings, which included several boundaries, earned him the Player of the Match award. The USA’s clinical performance sent them into the final with a commanding 34-ball margin to spare.

 

Marcus Scotland top-scored with an unbeaten 57 off 57 balls, anchoring the innings for BER. Alex Dore contributed 14 off 8 balls with a six, while Onias Bascome added 5 off 5 balls. Delray Rawlins was dismissed for a duck, while Jarryd Richardson managed only 3 runs. Dominic Sabir (11 off 20) and Allan Douglas (5 off 9) struggled, both falling to the spin of Yasir Mohammad. Sinclair Smith was dismissed for 3, caught behind off Jasdeep Singh. Derrick Brangman remained not out on 6 off 8 balls, as Bermuda finished their innings with just 114 runs, scoring at a rate of 5.70 runs per over.

 

The bowlers from the USA were very successful in limiting Bermuda to 114/7. The most impressive player was Jasdeep Singh, who claimed one wicket for 21 runs at an economy rate of 5.25 in his four overs. Saurabh Netravalkar bowled four overs at an economy rate of 6.50, giving up 26 runs without taking a wicket. Milind Kumar was outstanding, taking two wickets for just six runs in two overs, while Ayan Desai grabbed two wickets for 27 runs in his three overs at an economy rate of 9.00. Yasir Mohammad also contributed, taking two wickets for 19 runs in his four overs while keeping his economy rate at a respectable 4.75. Ali Sheikh was wicketless but managed to keep things under control with an economy of 4.00 after finishing his 3 overs for 12 runs.

 

The United States of America comfortably chased down the target of 115, reaching the total in just 14.2 overs. Saiteja Mukkamalla was the standout performer, remaining unbeaten on 72 off 49 balls, including 9 fours and 2 sixes, for a strike rate of 146.93. Shayan Jahangir supported him well, finishing not out on 35 from 37 balls, with 1 four, at a strike rate of 94.59. With 8 extras added, the USA reached 115/0, achieving the target with a run rate of 8.02 runs per over.

 

Bermuda’s bowlers struggled to contain the United States’ chase, with none of them able to take a wicket. Jermal Proctor was the most expensive, conceding 23 runs in 1.2 overs at a high economy of 17.25, though he did have one wide. Zeko Burgess offered a bit more control, giving up 17 runs in 2 overs at 8.50 runs per over. Allan Douglas and Derrick Brangman both bowled 4 overs, conceding 27 and 23 runs respectively, but couldn’t break the partnership. Dominic Sabir’s 2 overs cost him 15 runs at an economy rate of 7.50, but the USA’s openers were simply too dominant.
